Singapore Press Holding Annual General Meeting 2016

The cold weather and drizzling rain dampen my mood , forced myself to attend this AGM and was expecting low turn out due to the weather & no Bento set was to be provided as notified by SPH. To my surprises, the turn out was great though many lamented the lack of food.Surely enough the first question thrown to Chairman Lee was why did SPH could donate 350 thousand for charity , sponser musical event and ScholarShip award every year but was petty towards Shareholders for a once a year AGM event . Some shareholders even suggested to give NTUC vouchers for lack of food and the whole auditorium burst out into laughter. Lee's clarified the decision not to provide foods was not monetary issue but instead his intention is to encourages dedicated shareholder to attend the AGM. Trading or investing

Like many other ppl who trade, the thrill of making huge profits within a short span of time intoxicated me. Somehow is a addiction, like taking drugs, once we get the hang of it ,we cant shake it off. For a while, i was obsessed in making risky trades and it did reward me well but sometimes i got whack down too. However it gave me a new perspective on how we should grow our money in a sensible and conservative manner. I will like to share 2 of my speculative trades here; Genting SP & UPP. Genting SP, the well known stock for punters. I short(sell first) the stock at $1.77 and cover back (buy back)at $1.74. A gain of $0.03 gave me a net profit of $2070.45 in a duration of 1 hour and 14 mins. Of course, there are seasoned traders who can earn more than this. Now we move to UPP. I bought UPP at $0.425 ,hoping it will rally up but it did not. To cut loss ,I sold off at $0.405. A loss of $0.02 resulted a loss of $2264.21 in a duration of 1 hour. Frasers Logistics & Industrial Trust

On 11th January 2018, bought 6,000 shares of Frasers Logistics & Industrial Trust at $1.16 per share. I must admit that the price I purchased is rather high. Assuming 7.01 cents distribution payout on Dec 2017 maintains , it yield will be at 6% based on $1.16 purchase price. Rather than leaving the money in the bank to earn meagre interest, I am inclined to deploy into high yielding instruments. This is also my second pure Australia's counter beside AusNet Services which operates it business in Australia too but in Utilities sector. FLT owns 61 properties in Australia with 99.4% occupancy rate. The WALE is at 6.79 years provide greater certainty for investors who want longer & stable income. 68% of FLT borrowing are at fixed interest rates at the cost of 2.8% pa excluding debt related expenses.
